RSG Receives One of the Largest Imported Sheep Genetics Shipments from Australia

Lebanon, IN – [September 10, 2025] – Reproduction Specialty Group Inc. (RSG) has announced the successful arrival of one of the largest imported shipments of sheep genetics ever brought into the United States. The shipment cleared USDA customs on Monday and was delivered Tuesday to RSG’s headquarters in Lebanon, Indiana.
The import, facilitated through collaboration with Tattykeel Farms in Australia, includes more than 1,000 units of semen and embryos from two highly regarded breeds: Australian White and Polled Dorset. Tattykeel is globally recognized for its superior sheep genetics, with industry-leading advancements in both breeds.
The Australian White embryos were imported on behalf of the American Australian White Sheep Breeders Association (AAWSBA), with support from the RSG Foundation, whose mission includes assisting with endangered and emerging breed expansion opportunities in the U.S. The association will make the new imported genetics available to its members, helping accelerate the growth of the Australian White breed—renowned for its exceptional eating quality—across the country.
American Genetics provided assistance in securing permits and managing the complex logistics of international shipping.
The RSG Genetics Team has already begun the process of inventorying the shipment and preparing units for distribution to breeders nationwide. Select Polled Dorset embryos will be available through RSG’s online donor catalog, while Australian White genetics will be distributed through the AAWSBA to its members.
This milestone shipment adds to the association’s growing impact, boosting the total number of imported Australian White embryos to more than 1,000 units in 2025 alone. Founded in 2022, the AAWSBA has quickly grown to over 100 active members across the U.S., underscoring the rising demand for this innovative breed and its genetic advantages.
