Here are a few friendly reminders and FAQ’s as we gear up for peak breeding season!
We know it’s hot out! It is safe to pull feed & water from your animals prior to their programs according to the protocols. Their rumen can hold lots of fluids and we need them empty enough to avoid surgical complications!
Pack fans and generators! Good rule of thumb whether you’re working at the main clinic or a host site is to plan for keeping your animals cool and comfortable while they wait their turn!
Plan for a backup strategy, especially when you’re using fresh or fresh chilled semen on breed day!
Remember to clean out your ram or buck and get him comfortable with hand breeding if you’re using your own ram to collect and breed fresh!
If you’re interested in rams or bucks from the RSG catalog, we ask that you purchase that, and pay for it before use or shipping. If purchasing directly from a breeder, please follow up on the transfer being completed prior to your program!
We customize each schedule to maximize the team’s efficiency and results for our clients! Please, arrive on time and communicate accurate plans and numbers beforehand. If something changes, no worries! Just let us know.
Often, we do have room in the schedule for more ‘LAI only’ females. But donors are not something we can typically add at the last minute!
