Check Out the RSG Sheep & Goat Genetics Catalogs

New sires are being added each month to our online Genetics Catalogs for Sheep and Goats. As young sires freeze semen, breeders are adding them to the available units for purchase.

When you’re ready, you can purchase semen directly through the online catalog with just a few clicks.

Once you’ve made your purchase, you have complete flexibility—store your genetics with RSG, or conveniently schedule shipment or on-site pickup to fit your breeding program timeline.

We are here to assist if you have any questions!

Before you arrive at our Indiana Headquarters, we want you to feel confident and prepared for what to expect.

We’ve put together a quick video that walks through the full process step-by-step, from check-in to completion, so you know exactly how everything works ahead of time. Take a few minutes to watch and come ready with any questions!

Feed and Water Intake Protocol

One of these most common questions we received this time of year from our clients is about our feed and water intake protocol.

This practice is safe and plays an important role in the success of the reproductive services we perform at RSG.

In this video, we explain the reasoning behind the protocol, why it’s important, and how it helps set your livestock up for the best possible outcome.

Shipping & Pick-Up Reminder

All shipping and pick up requests for semen and embryos must be submitted through the RSG Genetic Inventory Management Platform via the Inventory tab using the Withdraw button.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • UPS and FedEx do not provide reimbursement for shipping delays.
  • RSG will not cover the cost of replacement units if a shipment is delayed for any reason by the carrier.
  • Shipping insurance covers loss or damage only and must be purchased at the time the shipment is requested.

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD!

Schedule shipping requests approximately 2 weeks in advance and submit pick up requests at least 48 business hours prior to your desired date.

Storage Billing Reminder

Please note that storage is billed once a month in arrears. For example, invoices sent on July 1 reflect storage charges for the month of June.

Storage fees apply for the entire month, regardless of whether genetics were in storage for one day or the full month. Storage charges are not prorated.

RSG Foundation Gene Bank

The RSG Foundation Gene Bank offers donated genetics to producers and organizations at an affordable price, helping advance breeding programs while supporting the RSG Foundation’s mission.

Through the RSG Foundation Gene Bank, Dust Cutter semen is available for just $15 per straw.

New World Screwworm Resources

View on our NWS Resource page.

RSG recently hosted a Zoom webinar focused on the New World Screwworm (NWS) situation. This resource provides an overview of the current status of NWS and USDA response efforts, along with key information on the risks to sheep and goats, production management recommendations, and important considerations for animal preparation and post-procedure care.

As RSG continues to monitor the New World Screwworm (NWS) situation, our veterinary team is recommending the following for NWS management protocol. Due to high demand, product availability may be limited.

Catron IV Spray

  • Used on wounds to help kill and repel flies, fly maggots, mosquitoes, gnats, and other external parasites on cattle, sheep, goats, swine, and horses. RSG uses Catron IV Spray to help protect wounds following procedures or injury.

Dectomax® Injectable Solution (100 mL)

  • Provides broad-spectrum parasite control, including roundworms, lungworms, lice, and mange mites. As part of RSG’s NWS protocol, Dectomax® is used to support parasite control and overall animal health.

These products are currently on supplier allocation, and availability may be limited. Always use according to label directions and in consultation with your veterinarian.

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME) is now hosting a weekly New World Screwworm (NWS) webinar to provide the latest updates on surveillance, response efforts, veterinary best practices, and guidance from state and federal agencies.

These webinars anyone interested in staying informed on the NWS situation.

Weekly Webinar

  • When: Every Monday at 4:00 p.m. Central Time
  • Where: Live via Zoom

Recordings will be available for on-demand viewing through the TBVME website.
