Fitting the Needle

• Unscrew the nut at the front of the implanter, attach needle with open face
  of the bevel upwards when implanting.
• Replace nut over the needle and screw it finger tight.

Loading Implant Magazine

• At the top of the implanter is a dust cover; remove the cover prior to
  loading the implanter.
• Insert the implant magazine under the dust cover from the rear and
  replace dust cover.
• Implanting
• Once the magazine is loaded and dust cover is in place remove the needle
  protector and store in a safe place.
• Ensure the needle is clean and sharp.
• Hold the sheep’s head so that it is immobilized between our legs and you have
  access to the skin at the base of either ear.
• Ensure the open face bevel is not directed down towards he skull, implant only
  around the base of the ears, do not implant at right angles to the skull.
• Pinch the skin upwards with your thumb and forefinger and implant under the
  raised area.
• Insert the full length of the needle beneath the raised skin subcutaneously and
  squeeze the trigger firmly until the first click is heard and the trigger can travel no
  further.
• The implant has now been placed under the skin.
• Withdraw the needle then release the trigger fully so that the second click is
  heard.
• A new dose is now ready for implantation in the next animal.
• Clean needle with alcohol free disinfectant between each animal.

Storing Spare Needles

• Spare needles can be stored in the chamber at the back of the implanter handle.
