RSG Achieves Historic First: Exports Sheep Semen to Germany from New Sire Center

duke

RSG proudly announces the successful completion of its first international export shipment from its newly opened state-of-the-art Sire Center in Lebanon, Indiana. The milestone shipment, sent to Germany, was semen collected from a Babydoll Southdown ram for Jennings Babydolls of Marengo, Ohio.

The semen was collected from Duke Fuller 3013, a standout sire in the Babydoll breed, and processed with the assistance of American Genetics, further solidifying RSG’s growing international footprint in small ruminant reproductive services.

Opened in April 2025, RSG’s new Sire Center is a dedicated export facility featuring export quarantine housing and full-service processing capabilities for both sheep and goat semen and embryos. This first shipment underscores RSG’s commitment to supporting U.S. breeders in reaching new global markets while maintaining the highest standards in biosecurity and animal health.

“This milestone represents not only an exciting first for RSG but a meaningful step forward for the entire U.S. sheep industry,” said Dr. Tad Thompson, CEO of RSG. “Our new facility was built to help breeders expand their reach globally, and this shipment proves what’s possible when breeders, veterinarians, and regulatory teams work together.”

“We are honored to be a part of this historic international project alongside RSG and American Genetics,” said Amie Jennings of Jennings Babydolls. “While the process required great care, patience, and persistence, the result is a first-of-its-kind shipment of Babydoll Southdown ram semen to Germany. This milestone reflects the hard work and dedication of all involved.”

RSG continues to lead innovation in reproductive technology and international livestock genetics distribution, helping producers access advanced breeding solutions and connect with markets worldwide.
