Meet the RSG New Zealand Team

The RSG executive team recently returned from an impactful visit to New Zealand, where Dr. Tad and Amanda Thompson, Doug and Lisa Edge, and Julie Premo spent time working closely with the new RSG New Zealand team. Located in Hamilton, RSG New Zealand is strategically positioned to serve as a hub for advanced reproductive technologies and genetics export across the region.

The center supports a wide range of production markets, including dairy, beef, swine, sheep, and goats. This collaboration marks an exciting step forward in expanding RSG’s global reach and sharing innovative solutions with producers in the Southern Hemisphere.

RSG Nutrition + Umbarger Update

RSG Foundation Adds More Sires to Online Catalog

The RSG Foundation is excited to announce that more sires have been added to its online Gene Bank Catalog—just in time for breeding season! You can now select from a variety of deeply discounted sires.

All semen has been generously donated by breeders, and proceeds benefit the Foundation’s efforts in youth engagement, educational resources, and breed expansion and preservation.

RSG Sires promotes sires for fresh semen purchases that are either owned by RSG or housed at RSG facilities under the Now Standing At RSG Sires program. This program provides breeders the opportunity to showcase their sires while benefiting from RSG’s marketing, professional care, and fresh semen distribution services.

Donor Prep

Get the Most Out of Your Donors: Pre-Flush Prep Tips

Success starts before the flush! If you’re planning to flush your donor ewes or does for embryo transfer, here are a few key prep tips:

Body Condition Matters – Aim for a BCS of 2–2.5. Avoid donors that are too thin or overly conditioned.
Nutrition is Key – Provide a balanced ration with proper vitamins and minerals 30–60 days prior. Don’t forget trace minerals!
Health First – Deworm and vaccinate well ahead of protocol start. Stress and illness can impact embryo quality.
Consistency Counts – Avoid major changes in feed, environment, or handling leading up to the flush.
Spa Day – Donors are the queens of the flock and should be treated as such. Be sure shearing and hoof trimming are done as part of your prep plan.

Please go to the RSG Client Portal and setup your access to view your invoice(s) on the ‘Invoices’ tab
Please setup a payment method in the ‘Vault’ tab to allow for quick and easy payment processing
All transactions completed in the RSG Client Portal can be viewed in the ‘History’ tab
There is a 3% fee on all credit card transactions
There are no fees for ACH / e-Check payments
No cash transactions
