I went to Northeast Livestock to look at black face sheep and ended up leaving with half interest in a Southdown buck. I didn’t own any Southdown ewes, which speaks volumes for the quality Wooly Nelson offers. Wooly Nelson is a Southdown that could compete in the black face divisions. His back handles huge, hip is incredible, and shape to his leg is like none I have seen. Plus, he is very good hided and has the big bushy feet of a down. He had many friends last year and their lambs are topping sales.
